Property Preservation: Debris Removal

The property business is the field that is affected by the recession quite severely. The thing that makes it so is the fact that the economy difficulties experienced by the people influenced their affordability including paying the mortgage. So they stopped paying their mortgage and sooner or later, they are forced to leave their house. The property is then repossessed by the bank or the mortgage servicer. Cases like this happen in all parts of the country, leaving the banks with abundant property assets with low values since the properties are left and abandoned with poor condition. When the former owner of the property left, they often abandoned some of their personal belongings. They are not required to clean the house they just left, therefore requiring debris removal. If the family had lived for quite a long time in the house, they must have a lot of goods, including the broken appliances they put at the backyard or at the side of the house. A house with poor condition must have a lot of debris and they all must be cleaned.

Debris Removal

When it comes to removing the debris, there are regulations and debris removal service must meet the requirements issued by the regulation. The requirements cover the items that fall into the category of debris and the way the items should be removed. A comprehensive documentation regarding the debris removal from a foreclosure property should be kept as well.

Debris Removal Process

The documentation includes the name, address, and telephone number of the disposal facilities involved in the debris removal process. It is common for a property preservation company to collect all the debris from a number of foreclosure properties before taking them to the disposal facilities. The items removed from the properties are identified and classified into categories to make it easier for the property preservation company to take them to the disposal facilities. The debris would be disposed or recycled according to the regulations.

Debris Removal Services

Debris removal services cover the exterior as well as the interior parts of the house. Abandoned vehicles are included in debris that should be removed from the exterior of the house. The disposal of the abandoned vehicles should be according to the applicable local laws. The items that are still in good condition and add the values to the property should not be removed. So a swing set or a dog-house that is still usable does not fall into the category of debris that should be removed from the property unless it will be a threat to the safety and health. Photographs are taken before and after the debris removal to provide documentation of the property preservation process. For the interior debris removal, items that are hazardous to the health and safety, or the ones that violate the local rules should be removed from the property. Carpets and flooring that are torn or damaged should also be removed if they are considered unsafe. Dead animals, furniture, clothing, utensils and dishes are supposed to be removed as well unless there is a regulation that says not to.
